Tobogganing has a long tradition in South Tyrol. Natural toboggan runs lead down into the valley in all five ski areas of Merano and the surrounding area. The longest toboggan run is on the Val Senales Glacier. It leads over 3.5 km from Lazaun to the village of Maso Corto. The family ski area Merano 2000 offers not only a natural toboggan run but also the Alpin Bob railway. Families can also zoom quickly into the valley via the Moscha natural toboggan runs in the Schwemmalm ski area and the toboggan run in the San Viglio ski area. In the gently mobile Plan there is both a curvy natural toboggan run and a family toboggan run.

Rental toboggans are available in the ski rentals of the respective ski areas or in the adjacent inns.
