The B&B Hotel Aster in Merano: My holiday home in the spa town
When I think of my next holiday in Merano, I always think of my favourite hotel: The Hotel Aster. A slow smile spreads across my mouth and I go into raptures. The 3* B&B Hotel Aster is situated in a quiet and peaceful location in the villa district of Maia Alta/Obermais. A little away from the hustle and bustle, but still very close to the old town of Merano. Actually, it is only 1 mile to the city centre and this walk is definitely worthwhile. Especially if you can stroll through the Sissi Park... and there you can already get a sense of the different cultures, the Alpine and the Mediterranean.

My day in Merano begins with a rich and vital breakfast on the terrace. The traditional cappuccino is served. Sweets and savouries from South Tyrolean cuisine await at the buffet. Only the best from two cultures, always fresh and of high quality. Particular attention is placed on local and homemade products, which I appreciate very much.
My cosy little B&B in Merano is the ideal starting point for short and long walks and hikes. Merano's city centre and the famous Merano Thermal Baths are only a 10–15-minute walk away and I can also reach the Botanical Gardens on foot in 10 minutes. In addition, the hiking and skiing area of Merano 2000 is only a stone's throw away. That's what I call a top location between alpine pastures and palm trees.
I like it familiar and cosy.
My host family Sommese-Strohmer knows how to pamper their guests and fulfil their every wish. That's exactly why - and also because of the familiar and homely atmosphere - I always look forward to my holidays at the B&B Hotel Aster in Merano. And especially to Gigi, who inspires everyone with his Mediterranean hospitality.
