In spring, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle come to life with over 200,000 blooming tulips. The garden season begins on April 1 each year. Until early November, you can discover numerous other botanical beauties. The botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are the true crowd puller of the city. This charming place, which stretches picturesque along the sun-drenched hillside of Labers, offers you an unparalleled nature experience filled with a wealth of colors and fragrances.
At the center of the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle stands the castle itself, which houses a restaurant and the Touriseum. Its old and venerable rooms, where Emperor Franz Josef and his wife, Empress Sissi, once resided, now serve as the venue for the Museum of Tourism. The Touriseum offers a permanent exhibition on tourism in South Tyrol, as its name suggests.
Our tip: Visit the gardens in sturdy footwear and take your time. There are also numerous morning and evening events offered.
